Clouds

Wire clouds

Paper clouds

Cube clouds

This is a type of "reversed" cloud, and instead of trying to make the shape look flowing and round, these artists do the opposite and tackle the clouds shape inspired by cubism.

 Cup clouds

These "clouds" are made up of thousands of cups, creating an unique and round shape

 Pixelated clouds

These clouds are known as "pixel" clouds, by Daniel Arsham made out of thousand small components, creating one large piece of work, in this case a huge cloud.

Cloth clouds

"Folded" origami clouds, made out of textile you can fold and create your own scenes on your wall.

"Head in clouds"

"To design Shang Xia's debut boutique-in an upscale retail complex in Shanghai's onetime French Concession-CEO and artistic director Jiang Qiong Er looked to Tokyo's Kengo Kuma, known for giving contemporary expression to Eastern tradition." - http://www.interiordesign.net/article/541204-Head_in_the_Clouds.php

Inspiration

We could be thinking of making a tshirt sculpture, I found a few ideas, which could inspire us.

this could potentially be a changing room;

This one above ^ is by a design company called El Ultimo Grito and this is a concept store in London that they've created. I know it's quite simple but I just thought the idea of hangers coming down from the ceiling was quite nice. And then some could have clothes hanging off them or something? I don't know but yeah. The second is ...

that one^ which is actually a bar/restaurant in London designed by Wells Mackereth. I just really like that centre structure thing, which i know is a little way out maybe for us but I thought it's quite eye catching, and this layered effect could be quite easy to re create with cardboard or something.

The third piece of inspiration is an installation by Matali Crasset, the link is http://www.matalicrasset.com/matali_crasset_flash.php?lg=en, go along the orange squares at the bottom and go to design exhibition Cosmit. Again this is just the idea of some sort of cardboard or wooden structure to display the clothes within to catch peoples attention and create sort of a center piece. so just take a look!

Pop up shop - inspiration

Our group mission is to design a small PoP uP ShoP that sells t shirts, a store that will constantly change the location and probably the concept/style. With all of this movement happening the store has to be set up very quick and always be prepared to improvise the original design for the new existing place.

A pop up shop, in many cases is like a small business/fun between 2 or more friends that gather their forces to make their wish come true. So as they gather around, the friends start to handcraft the new store and try to keep their personal touch in it. Overall the store may feature a more intimate style/approach, and it could be a mixture of tastes. [That is only my opinion, this is me trying to explain my story. Please feel free to give feedbacks]. For that I've searched on the Internet different styles as the "eclectic" one (Eclectic design is a colorful mix of periods and styles with the unifying themes being comfort and interest. An eclectic space will have touches of bohemian in it. It will also have industrial, traditional, modern, contemporary, art deco and ethnic in the mix)

Eclectic style

Going back to design and concept, I feel like the "urban" style with a touch of "rustic/vintage" could create a pleasant and interesting atmosphere in the shop . Why I think the "urban" one fits here is because the store is always changing the place, from an arcade shop even to a warehouse spot. This way the stores design should be adaptable to any situations. Also a small PoP uP ShoP that sells only t shirts might get boring so we have to make it be shocking, with a big visual impact. For that we could use an urban graffiti wall that would be a perfect match for the graphic designs on t shirts we are selling and also a cheap method of tricking the eye.
As in for the rustic/vintage/eco-chic/ eco friendly (call it as you wish) we could use natural and recycled materials such as: from paper we can make lamps (like the ones from IKEA), from painted cardboard different other decorations, bambus, cotton etc. In matter of furniture we can always find some cheap antic shops that could be very helpful in our situation.

Urban?

I think the urban idea is nice, but I do think we should integrate the idea of recycling in as this is cheap and we could create some really cool bits of furniture etc. And also, urban themes get used a lot nowadays so I think we need to make sure we make it a little different as I know another group discussed doing an urban type theme aswell.
But sticking with these themes for now, here are some pictures I've found to have a little look at (:

I think this above ^ is really great, just out of cardboard boxes, look how much of an impact it has!

And by the way Alex, the images you put up I liked, It would be a nice idea to create that sort of bits and bobs look if you know what I mean, with a bit of everything everywhere and sort of a bit quirky.

Some more pics ..

A Table made from recycled magazines!

I like this idea, if we did use graffiti for a wall or something, we could create another board or something for customers to write on, just for a bit of fun and to make the shop a bit more interactive with the public. And also, if we did choose to use graffiti, it's quite handy that I happen to know about 20 people who do graffiti (: haha

Just take a look, tell me what you think to some of the ideas. I also posted pictures of several empty shops on our facebook page so if you could all have a look at them and then we can talk about any that we like and contact the letting agent or whoever to maybe get some plans because I think we're supposed to have decided roughly on a site by Thursday, I personally like the shops in the arcade more as I just think what we're selling and the type of shop would fit in better here, plus they look nicer there haha.
